On Tuesday, 12th August 2025, Rukuriri Tea Factory hosted a memorable Buying Centre Committee Meeting at Rukuriri, Runyenjes Constituency. The meeting brought together farmers’ representatives, committees, directors, and management in a spirit of dialogue, accountability, and celebration.
Key Agendas Discussed
The gathering addressed important issues that directly impact our farmers and the sustainability of our tea industry, including:
Fairtrade – strengthening fairness and better rewards for our farmers.
Rainforest Alliance – advancing our commitment to environmental conservation.
Leaf Quality – improving standards for premium tea production.
Buying Centre By-laws & Project Deductions – promoting transparency and accountability in factory operations.
Celebrating Excellence
One of the highlights of the day was the recognition of our Top 15 Buying Centres. Each centre was celebrated and awarded with tea packs – a symbol of appreciation for their outstanding performance, dedication, and teamwork. This recognition reaffirmed our belief that when farmers excel, the entire community prospers.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our Directors – Mr. Joseph Rwanjau, BM Enos N. Njiru, Peter M. Mwaniki, John Mbogo, Bethuel Muchangi & Levenson Suma – for their unwavering leadership.
